Mentor, Lance Jefferys attended a recent award evening hosted by Stortford Lodge Rotary Club. Every year they ask local business/organisations to nominate a person to receive the Pride of Workmanship Award. Patricia said it was a difficult decision as all BBBS mentors are valued and do a great job. Lance has done some amazing activities with his mentee Torres, but in addition he volunteered to Chair the newly formed Fundraising Task Group, which was set up to assist BBBS with raising funds. Lance is project managing the manufacturing of 200 braziers which will hopefully raise around $10,000 for BBBS. This is a huge undertaking as Lance works full time, he has a family, grandchildren and he does other good works in the community. Patricia, Kath and Bonnie thought Lance deserved to be recognised for his contribution to BBBS. We are incredibly grateful to the Fundraising Task Group who are working hard to support Lance.At the same event Patricia was recognised for her efforts in relaunching the organisation three years ago. Patricia said “it has been a team effort and there is no way we could have reached the match numbers we currently have, without the support of Kath and Bonnie”.
